MonitorWare Console 3.0 Released
Release Date: 2006-10-04
Build-ID: 3.0.2468.24671
New Additions
|
- Enhanced Reporting Module
Now an extensively redesigned reporting module is available. Which makes
report generation more flexible and powerful. For details see the changes
listed below:
- Variety of output formats. Reports can be generated in the preferred format.
Formats available: PDF, HTML and interactive drill-down-type format (RPT) for
example.
- Concept of "Data Sources". Previously only one database or text file
could be used for generating a report. Now it is possible to add as many
data sources as required to a single report. Regardless if it is a database
or text file.
- Format independent. It includes a generic message parsing system. In theory,
the parsing system is able to accept logs from virtually any source.
- Wildcards and Replacement Characters in file names are supported now.
- "Data Source Wizard". A wizard helps to configure a data source for a report.
- "Format Wizard". Assists defining parse maps for the new generic parser.
- External ReportViewer
In order to review the new interactive drill-down-type report format - rpt files and zpt
(zipped report format) files - an External ReportViewer was introduced.
The ReportViewer can be installed as stand-alone program if necessary. This is useful if
you want to view reports saved in rpt or zpt format on machines where MonitorWare Console
is not installed.
- Job Manager Profiles
Made the profile dialog a little bit more user friendly (tab order, shortcuts, visual improvements, verification checks).
- New Reports
Of course all reports use the new redesigned reporting module. During the change-over
some minor improvements were made nearly on each report. Besides these changes a new report
was introduced. "UserActivities" report tracks down user activities in a windows environment.
- Debug Options
The new debug options enable to define a debug level. Further, the location of the
debug file is configurable. It is also possible to differentiate debug output between
the client and Job Manager.
